Allison has extensive courtroom and litigation experience. Allison has successfully tried numerous cases in Family, Circuit and Superior Court. Additionally, Allison has been involved with and co-counseled multiple high profile cases, including one of the bigger criminal cases in recent New Hampshire history. Allison has experience in all stages of the criminal process and is proficient at filing and litigating various pre-trial motions, conducting depositions, obtaining expert witnesses, and tirelessly arguing for her clients. Allison has a history of providing representation that is focused on her clients and their needs, and most importantly, communicating with them every step of the way.

Personal Life and Early Career:

Attorney Allison Schwartz was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. Allison graduated from Vanderbilt University, summa cum laude, with a bachelor’s degree in Honors Psychology. As part of the Honors program at Vanderbilt, Allison worked in a clinical psychology laboratory that focused on the study of emotions and the acoustics of laughter.

Allison spent several years after her graduation from Vanderbilt working as both a real estate agent and mortgage broker for a family business in the Florida Keys. After working in South Florida, Allison returned to Ohio where she attended the University of Cincinnati College of Law. While at UC, Allison developed a passion for criminal law, public interest work, and litigation. Following the first year of law school, Allison completed an internship at the Public Defender Service in Washington D.C. Following her second year of law school, Allison completed an internship at the Concord Office of the New Hampshire Public Defender where she practiced criminal law and provided direct representation to clients. During her time at UC, Allison was a fellow at the Glenn Weaver Institute of Psychiatry and Law, participated in the criminal defense clinic, and was a published member of the Immigration and Nationality Law Review.

Allison started her legal career as a staff attorney in the Laconia Office of the Public Defender in 2010. Allison has lived and worked in the Lakes Region ever since. During her time at the Public Defender, Allison was involved in the hiring, mentoring and training of new attorneys and interns. Over the past 12 years, Allison has had the opportunity to advocate for and provide representation to over 3,000 clients on charges ranging from motor vehicle violations, DUI, misdemeanors to serious felonies, such as Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault and Homicide. Allison is also a member of the Belknap County Recovery Court Team, advocating for those with substance misuse disorders.

In recent years, Allison has honed her expertise in Family Law, building on her extensive courtroom and litigation experience. She has successfully navigated numerous cases in Family, Circuit, and Superior Court. Her proficiency encompasses every stage of the legal process, and she is adept at handling pre-trial motions, conducting depositions, and securing expert witnesses. She brings her vast experience to bear in her current practice, where she specializes in Family Law and Criminal Defense across New Hampshire.

In her spare time, Allison is an avid runner, who has qualified for and completed the Boston Marathon. Allison is also a hiker who has summited all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000 foot peaks. Allison enjoys spending her time honing her amateur photography skills, often using one of her dogs as a subject.
